IPv6 Connectivity says "No Internet access" - Windows 7
Like the topic says.. IPv6 says No Internet, so I have no internet. it's a wired system, and was working lastnight. I don't know why this is the cause (and I did change it back, to no prevail) but I changed the "Workgroup" name to "Home" to connect to another computer, and that's when I noticed it stopped working. It still connects to other computers in my house, even after changing the name back to "Workgroup", but it will not connect to any website including the router it's plugged into. All other systems on the network (2 vista and 1 mac) works fine. I've checked the internet a bit but I've had no luck. Scratch that.. it connected to one computer lastnight (I do not have physical access to that one atm) and shows my laptop in the network, but asks for a user/password and says the "domain" is the name I gave my desktop computer.

It would be normal to see No Internet for the IPv6 connection UNLESS you are using IPv6 - native, dual stack, IPv6 tunnel etc. Try a system restore to a point where it was working. thanks, that did work. although it still says no internet and previous to lastnight it said "local" (as it does on my laptop right now).. but hey, it works so i don't care what it says. thanks again

while system restore has been working, it's continuing to have a problem. currently, i've needed to do a system restore 3 times in the last 24 hours. i've checked the scan affected programs button and it shows that it does very minimal and always ends up removing something different (one time was a program i added after the problem first happened, then a game.. also after the problem.. nothing ever before the problem) the most recent one actually removed the system restore i just did a couple hours ago and nothing else. i'm greatly regretting buying windows 7

i plugged in a USB wireless adapter and it did not help. i'm sure the adapter works, it's new and my father currently uses it with his vista desktop, the software installed and it found a signal. i can send/receive email, play mmorpg games, download software updates (via their programs, not their websites) but i cannot open any website, it just says "connection timed out" after about 5 seconds. i stopped trying system restore since all the restore points are just various times of today and it hasnt worked at all today

there is a check box to show MORE restore points. i've ticked that and it doesn't seem to have any others.. i'm trying something else, regardless of if it works or not i'll post it here so you guys know what i've done this is what a person told me to try "Since this happens in two browsers but not in your email client, what does that tell us? It tells us that it is most likely one of two things that are common to WEB BROWSING but not to other network activities: DNS or TCP If it is DNS, that means your computer is unable to find websites by name because it cannot translate the name (URL) to the correct IP address. To test this: Open the Start Menu. In the Start Menu search box area type CMD and press Enter At the C:> Prompt, type PING GOOGLE.COM and press Enter If it replies Pinging Google.com [72.14.204.103] with 32 bytes of data then your DNS is working because it was able to lookup the IP for google. That leaves the TCP protocal, so we will reset the TCP Stack: Open the Start Menu. In the Start Menu search box area type CMD Press Ctrl-Shift-Enter keyboard shortcut to run Command Prompt as Administrator. Allow elevation request. Type NETSH INT IP RESET at the C:> Prompt, and then press Enter. Restart the computer. We can also rebuild the WINSOCK Press Ctrl-Shift-Enter keyboard shortcut to run Command Prompt as Administrator. Also in MSCONFIG click the SERVICES Tab, and hide all MS services, then disable all non-MS Services, again to make sure that no third party application is blocking your internet access" i can ping google.com, googles IP and paypals IP just fine but paypal.com and aol.com were timed out as well as aols IP i checked firewall settings and they seemed fine, but i disabled them completely just in case i missed something. i also turned off all services that were not hidden from the non-MS checkbox and the problem persists i've also scanned for virii/spyware/malware with adaware, avg, spybot, malwarebytes and windows defender

i added a rule to the firewall settings to allow both port 80 and 443 but that did not help. just trying to keep this up to date so nobody suggests something i've done

please remove those firewall rules. open IE, tools, manage add-ons, and disable ALL add-ons. close IE and restart it. does the issue clear? if not to determine if something in your IE personal settings is the issue (before asking your to reset IE), you might want to create a new user with administrative privileges. then, log off YOUR account and log on to the new user account. does IE work or not? for a test site, let's use www.microsoft.com for all tests please. i previously has IE uninstalled so i reinstalled it and did as you said, but that didn't change anything however, i created a new admin account and that is working. i checked a few various websites (both http and https) and they came up fine. i'm currently downloading updates for windows 7 with it (which wasn't working before either) is there a way to figure out what caused it? i don't have a whole lot of stuff on the other account so it wouldnt take long to delete that one and just use this new one. but if one of the programs i use was the issue then i'm just going to end up doing it again when i transfer my programs

what do you mean you had uninstalled IE on Windows 7? how did you uninstall it? what programs did you install? we have the same issue with IPv4. All our computers have a yellow alert over the network icon, saying no internet access - but we do have internet access. route print says a have a netmask of 0.0.0.0, when I route delete 0.0.0.0 and restart - it doesn't fix the issue.Thanks!
